"Adjunct - AY26 Machine Shop, CNC Instructor"

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is accepting applications for Adjunct Machine Shop - CNC Instructor positions for the Academic School Year 2023. The LACCD is the largest community college district in the United States, serving over 225,000 students annually across nine colleges in Southern California.

Position: Adjunct Machine Shop - CNC Instructor. Successful candidates will engage and educate students, collaborate with faculty and staff, and promote inclusive educational environments. Duties include teaching courses in Machine Shop - CNC, operating CNC and manual manufacturing machinery, developing web-based curriculum, and coordinating with industries and high schools.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in any field and two (2) years of full-time related professional experience; or
• Associate degree in any field and six (6) years of full-time related professional experience; or
• The equivalent.
• A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience teaching postsecondary courses in Machine Shop-CNC;
• Direct experience in the Machine Shop-CNC industry;
• Proficiency in CNC and manual manufacturing machinery;
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to different student learning styles;
• Experience in developing web-based curriculum;
• Ability to research and apply new teaching methods;
• Commitment to maintaining skills in the field;
• Ability to work with businesses and industry;
• Proficiency in CAM software such as MasterCAM;
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.

Compensation: Salary begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
