"College Laboratory Asst 2"

This position provides classroom and on-the-road driving support for students of the Truck Driving Program. The Truck Driving Assistant reinforces learning material and skills introduced by the instructor, assists the instructor with on-the-road driving supervision of student drivers, and helps students prepare for the commercial driver’s license and road test.

Salary Range: $21.57 - $29.24

Minimum Qualifications: Post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant licensure in Truck Driving - OR- relevant licensure in Truck Driving AND One year of teaching/tutoring experience in Truck Driving at the high school level or above - OR - 4 years of work experience in Truck Driving where no degree/certificate/diploma/licensure is required- OR - An equivalent combination of education and work experience. Valid Class ‘A’ commercial driver’s license (CDL). Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) physical health card. Must successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening.

Preferred Qualification: Effective communication skills, including the ability to sufficiently explain and assist students with successful completion of the truck driving program. Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities. Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
