Monroe Community College is seeking qualified applicants for temporary part-time faculty teaching assignments in the Biology Department, specifically for the Clinical Laboratory Technician program.

Job Description: Adjunct faculty prepare and teach courses in the department, develop educational materials, and assist with student learning assessment. Classes may be assigned to the Brighton Campus or in a hybrid modality, with laboratories delivered in-person. Adjunct faculty report to the Biology Department chairperson and work with the program director, bringing passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge
- Teaches courses and evaluates student performance in clinical laboratory subjects
- Prepares lesson plans, instructional materials, and course information sheets
- Assists with program curriculum, policy, procedures, and assessment
- Establishes a supportive classroom environment and maintains records
- Supports student retention and develops innovative teaching practices
- Engages in professional development and performs other assigned duties

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Earned associate degree or higher in clinical laboratory sciences or related field, plus three years of work experience in a clinical laboratory
- Ability to teach courses in hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis, and/or phlebotomy
- Effective communication skills and commitment to an inclusive environment
- Respect for diverse backgrounds and proficiency with technology
- Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college and continued professional growth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in workplace or classroom
- Knowledge of various teaching strategies and the value of technology
- Experience with computerized student record management
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or other languages
Additional Information: Pay rate for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 ranges from $1,217 to $1,484 per contact hour. Remote work outside New York State is not authorized.
