Adjunct Faculty Graduate, McKeown School of Education, Practicum Supervisor (Secondary and Specialist), AY 2025-2026
Overview
The McKeown School of Education at Salem State University is seeking adjunct professors to supervise pre-practicum and/or practicum teaching candidates remotely. Supervisors are required to meet with students for a pre-observation to discuss their lesson plans, watch videos of the candidate teaching, and provide oral and written feedback to the candidate in post-observation meetings. Supervisors also work with host teachers to support the student-teacher as they develop knowledge and skills across the time in the field, and hold regular, required meetings with the host teacher after each observation. Because most of this work is conducted remotely, the supervisor must use McKeown School’s technology platforms, such as Sibme and Canvas. Training is provided on all technology platforms, observation tools, and forms for licensure documentation. As this work is done remotely, supervisors can hold a full-time teaching job. Bi/multilingual supervisor candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Compensation is based on the number of pre-practicum and/or practicum students supervised in a semester, ideally between 3 and 6 in number. Occasionally, sections include high school students taking college courses through the Salem State Early College program, so experience working with high school students is highly desirable.
