"Adjunct Faculty/ Medical Billing and Coding- WEOC"

The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Medical Billing and Coding classes. The incumbent will deliver a curriculum that prepares students to qualify for employment in entry-level positions such as medical coder/biller, medical biller/customer service representative, medical records clerk/assistant, and insurance claims clerk. The incumbent will also:

• Prepare and update course materials to ensure alignment with current industry standards and certification requirements.
• Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to students and Program Administrator.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of students.

In addition, the instructor will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully pass a national billing and coding certification exam. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and work effectively with students who have barriers to employment.
