Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the part-time position of Adjunct Instructor for Computer Aided Design. Part-time faculty are those persons employed to provide instruction during the academic year dependent on the teaching needs of the College.

Examples of Duties

• Provide instruction and conduct classes in accordance with the philosophy of the college and within the scope of a defined course of study.
• Help students with coursework.
• Perform such other related duties as the appropriate dean or the chief academic officer may assign for the good of the College.
• Prepare, distribute, and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote student learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Submit final grades and all other required documents and reports according to established deadlines.
• Utilize college learning management system (Blackboard) to create course content website.
• Can participate in professional development activities.
• Can serve on committees.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Skills: Previous Experience with the Following:

• SolidWorks
• Autodesks AutoCAD
• Inventor Software

Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.

Supplemental Information

Teaching experience at a community college is desirable.

Salary Information

Adjuncts are paid at a special contract hour rate of pay starting at $530 per contract hour. Increases are given based on cumulative hours taught at the College.

Retirement Benefits

Edison State Community College participates in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).

Based upon the Ohio Revised Code, 14% of an Edison State employee's gross salary is deposited into their individual STRS account. The college contributes an additional 14% which is not figured into the employee's base salary. Adjunct instructors are also eligible to participate in 403(b) tax deferred annuity which is not cost-shared by the college.

Tuition Waiver

Edison State employees receive 100% of their instructional fees waived for any Edison State courses they take.

Dependents (spouse or children) of adjunct instructors at Edison State receive a partial waiver based upon the number of credit hours the instructor is teaching.

Fitness Center

The college also provides an on-site fitness center to employees, students and the community at no charge.
