Job Description
Location: Woodland Community College - Woodland, CA
Description of Duties
Under the general supervision of the Division Dean, provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and Governing Board policies; evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters, develop and assess student learning outcomes, and perform other instructional duties as assigned. Provide a welcome and inclusive environment with diverse students can succeed.
Essential Duties Summary
- Organize and instruct classes in Administration of Justice
- Provide effective classroom and laboratory instruction using methods and materials appropriate to the subject matter
- Promote and model professionalism as an educator and law enforcement professional; maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Comply with all institutional policies and procedures
- Facilitate student learning by using appropriate teaching methods
- Maintain currency and depth of knowledge in assigned area of responsibility
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
- Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
Required Duties
Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Administration of Justice at California Community Colleges: Any associate degree and six years of full-time occupational experience in the related field OR Any bachelor's degree and two years of full-time occupational experience in the related field OR The equivalent OR Possess a California Community life credential in the subject matter area
