General Requirements:
Associates degree in related field. Bachelors degree preferred. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Previous experience in an academic setting preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs advanced administrative assistant duties for the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
- Performs advanced administrative assistant duties. Provides departmental or university information to students, faculty and staff.
- Schedules and plans activities. Interprets policies and procedures.
- Assists in the building of departmental course schedule each semester.
- Prepares departmental electronic personnel action forms (ePAFs).
- Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports.
- Maintains multiple databases.
- Attends meetings and takes notes.
- Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence.
- Orders and maintains supply inventory.
- Maintains workroom operations.
- Oversees departmental budgets and financial transactions.
- Handles P-Card purchases and monitors expenses.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
