Location

Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.

Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.

Job Summary

This position at the UCC Advising Center oversees front desk operations, including answering calls, assisting students, and managing appointment scheduling and follow-up through EAB Navigate. The role includes recruiting, training, and supervising Student Assistants, and working with a diverse student population. Additional responsibilities involve coordinating university advising meetings, managing the departmental budget, assisting staff with travel reimbursement, purchasing office supplies, and tracking student compensation via Excel. The position also supports the Director of University Advising with tasks related to the Department of Academic Excellence.

Responsibilities

  1. Front Desk Operations & Student Assistance -
    Oversee front desk operations, answer incoming calls, assist students, and manage appointment scheduling and follow-up using EAB Navigate.
  2. Administrative Coordination -
    Coordinate and schedule university advising meetings, reconcile the departmental budget, assist with travel reimbursements, purchase office supplies, and track student compensation via Excel.
  3. The role involves recruiting, training, and supervising Student Assistants and working effectively as part of a dynamic team with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, academic abilities, and intellectual interests.
  4. Support to Director of University Advising -
    Provide support to the Director with tasks related to the Department of Academic Excellence.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School / GED

Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years administrative support.. Customer service background. The applicant must have basic computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Must be able to multitask comfortably with the phone and computer. Must be deadline-oriented with the ability to make informed decisions, anticipate the needs of students, and conduct common office processes. Clear enunciation is a must. Attention to detail is required.

Higher education experience in a student services environment.

Proposed Salary

$20.20 Hourly.
