Admissions Officer
About the Role
The role of Admissions Officer is responsible for the end-to-end admissions of high-quality commencing students for coursework programs, providing a personalised applicant experience while ensuring policy and regulatory compliance. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting applicants at a pivotal stage and is part of a high-performing team.
You will work with internal and external stakeholders to manage admissions including credit transfer assessment, assess applications, maintain accurate records, and improve processes—supporting a smooth applicant experience and the integrity of Flinders’ student systems.

With a particular focus on contributing to high level client service delivery in the assessment of applications and issuance of offers, the Admissions Officer is accountable for:
- Ensuring the effective and efficient processing of international student applications on a day-to-day basis in accordance with organisational objectives across a range of courses and recruitment channels
- Working within Standard Operating Procedures relating to admissions policies, procedures and systems, whilst contributing to the continuous improvement of these to ensure a high-level of customer service is maintained at all times and within defined organisational timelines
- Providing specialist advice to the prospective students and recruitment teams to support successful recruitment outcomes. Supporting the development of new initiatives in the University which will assist in meeting recruitment targets and managing workload.
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders both internal and external in relation to applications, including academic qualification equivalence, credit transfer, limited intake courses and other arrangements

About You
- Demonstrated experience in administrative roles in large, complex organisations and strong organisational skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and numerical reasoning, with confidence assessing qualifications and verifying supporting documentation.
- Sound knowledge of domestic and international education systems and qualification frameworks, or the ability to quickly build this expertise.
Your previous experience working with future students, including an understanding of other cultures and the ability to communicate in a cross-cultural working environment will be key to your success, as is your knowledge of University course structures, academic and student policies and procedures, and the ability to interpret and apply University policies and procedures.
A general understanding of the ESOS Act, Government visa policies, compliance and the National Code as they relate to the assessment and issuance of student offers is also required, with hands on experience in admissions & compliance an advantage.
It is expected that the successful candidate will have completed a degree qualification and/or have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and/or training.
