About the Opportunity

Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. A key element of the program's success is preparing Fellows to meet evolving workforce needs across various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.

Fellows have the opportunity to work closely with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners, while engaging with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, teaching, service, and scholarly activities.

In partnership with Northeastern University, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is offering a two-year Global Medical Affairs Early Assets fellowship, based in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Medical Affairs organization at Alnylam plays a leading role in supporting pipeline assets, in preparing for launch, and supporting commercially available products, as we advance medicines for patients who have limited or inadequate treatment options. The Early Assets Medical Affairs function develops the medical strategy and leads medical execution to support the development of Alnylam's investigational RNAi therapeutics. Early Assets Medical Affairs partners with experts across the organization to guide each unique investigational program as it enters the clinic and throughout its Ph 1 and Ph 2 development. Working cross-functionally across U.S. and global teams, key activities include mapping the clinical landscape, fostering scientific engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders, and supporting the dissemination of early clinical study results. Fellows can also expect to contribute to strategic medical planning, champion congress engagements, support the development of medical materials, and collaborate with leaders from other key internal partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead therapeutic landscape and KOL mapping exercise to inform early program strategy, including supporting engagement planning and execution of advisory boards and medical congresses
  • Contribute to relationship building and insights generation with external stakeholders (KOLs, professional societies, and advocates)
  • Interpret pre-clinical and early clinical study results and develop publications support key messages for a clinical audience
  • Develop slide decks, posters, publications, and other materials to support clinical development success
  • Initiate and drive development of integrated evidence plans (IEPs) for early-stage disease programs, synthesizing input across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support, as interested/needed, other key functional areas within and outside of Medical Affairs including Field Medical, Medical Omnichannel, VESt/HEOR, and Patient Advocacy

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Eligible for pharmacist licensure in the State of Massachusetts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at both the industry site and Northeastern

Expected Hiring Range: $59,425.00 - $83,935.00
