Anesthesiologist, Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine
Critical care time focuses in the cardiovascular ICU, with exposure to a wide variety of post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients. Stony Brook is the major LVAD and ECMO center in Suffolk County, serving a population of 1.5 million. Responsibilities include education, instructions, and supervision of medical students, certified registered nurse anesthetist, and anesthesiology/surgery residents. The ICU is fortunate to have a full-time staff of dedicated critical care PAs. Point-of-care ultrasound is utilized, as well as other state-of-the-art critical care skills, which can be developed on the job. Candidate will provide anesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery or other procedures and will provide consultation before and after the anesthetic procedure. An active role in clinical and/or basic research.
Required Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
- Must hold licensure or be eligible for licensure as a Physician in New York State.
- Completed or currently attending an ACGME accredited Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
- Board certified/eligible in Anesthesiology.
- Board certified/eligible in Critical Care Medicine.
