As Asset Data Officer you will play a key role in keeping the University’s asset information accurate, reliable, and ready to support informed decision‑making.

Working closely with the Asset Planner Analyst and wider Asset Management team, you’ll help ensure our facilities, buildings and fixed plant & equipment are documented, assessed, and maintained to a high standard.

In this role you will:

  • Maintain, update, and verify asset records in the University’s enterprise asset management system (Maximo), combining data entry with on‑site validation.
  • Conduct condition assessments across campuses – inspecting buildings, rooms, plant and equipment – to support accurate lifecycle planning and maintenance forecasting.
  • Review and refine asset details such as specifications, photographs, location data, and replacement cost estimates, working collaboratively with subject matter experts and contractors.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Experience in asset management activities such as data capture, auditing, and condition assessment.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence identifying a wide range of facilities, plant, and equipment assets.
  • Strong digital capability and experience using enterprise asset management systems (ideally Maximo), with the ability to interpret asset classifications, condition ratings, and lifecycle information.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently during field inspections and collaboratively in-office within a small, supportive team.

  2. Proven experience in asset management processes, including data capture, audits, and condition assessments with a strong attention to detail for verifying asset data and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  3. Understanding of fixed plant and equipment classifications and asset lifecycle principles.
  4. Demonstrated experience using enterprise asset management systems (preferably IBM Maximo) for maintaining and updating asset records.
