This position will complement NC State's strengths in biomanufacturing and be instrumental in achieving the cluster's goals.

Biopharmaceutical manufacturing is rapidly becoming dependent on enhanced automation and process control, and data-driven intelligence to achieve efficient, reproducible, and high-quality production of next-generation biologics. We seek candidates who can drive NC State to the forefront of this digital transformation and strongly encourage applications from candidates whose research interests align with the following major topics of interest to the cluster, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Bioprocess Modeling, Digital Twins, Predictive Models

The successful candidate will be appointed to an NC State department consistent with their academic background and that aligns with the mission of the cluster. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in an area relevant to biopharmaceutical manufacturing, such as chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biological sciences, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, computer science/engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates must have a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and scholarship commensurate with the rank sought.

Successful candidates are expected to establish dynamic, externally-funded research programs of international reputation, fully engaging in the highly collaborative environment of the cluster.

Candidates will also be expected to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in their home department, and perform internal and professional service at a level commensurate with rank. The search committee will give high priority to the overall originality and promise of a candidate's work and their potential to contribute to the interdisciplinary mission of the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing cluster.
