Assistant/Associate Professors (five positions)

Webster Vienna Private University is seeking to fill five full-time faculty positions in the Departments of Business and Management, International Relations, and Computer Science.

Positions Available:

  • Business and Management Department: Two positions (Assistant/Associate Professor) starting January 2026, focusing on Macroeconomics (international trade, geoeconomics, global supply chains) or Entrepreneurship & Innovation (capital investment and/or digital transformation/AI). Candidates must have strong quantitative backgrounds in methods or data science.
  • International Relations: One position (Assistant/Associate Professor) starting January 2026, focusing on security studies, geopolitics, diplomacy, or foreign policy analysis. Candidates must have strong quantitative backgrounds in methods or data science.
  • Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence: Two positions (Assistant/Associate Professor) starting January and September 2026, focusing on applications and foundations of machine learning and AI (e.g., applied mathematics, statistics, computer vision, signal processing, time series analysis). Candidates must have a strong scientific background and established network.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce career-stage appropriate academic publications in peer-reviewed journals and books.
  • Acquire third-party funding for research.
  • Maintain international visibility through conference presentations, peer reviews, and editorial roles.
  • Disseminate research findings to society and the economy.
  • Teach a regular load (1 to 6 courses per year based on other activities).
  • Mentor students, research assistants, doctoral students, and provide leadership as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Commitment to advancing scientific research.
  • Experience in third-party funded projects and university teaching.
  • Active international engagement and fluency in English.
  • For Associate/Full Professor: Habilitation or equivalent, track record in leading research projects, supervising PhD students, outstanding publications, curriculum development, and leadership experience.

Salary:

Minimum annual gross: Assistant Professor: EUR 65,000; Associate Professor: EUR 77,000; Full Professor: EUR 89,000 (based on 40 hours/week, adjusted by experience).
