Finance and Economics, Department of Finance and Accounting - Adjunct Faculty
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site in Schriever Space Force Base, CO in the Accounting & Finance program. Specifically, we are seeking faculty for the following course(s):
Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 201):
An introductory study of the macroeconomy. The objective is to apply select macroeconomic theories to real-world situations. Discussion covers economic growth, technological innovation, unemployment, inflation, and the roles of monetary policy and fiscal policy in determining macroeconomic performance.
Required Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Finance or Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Professional experience in Economics / Finance or related field
- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred
- This position is specifically to teach on-site at Schriever Space Force Base, CO.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Terminal degree in Finance or Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Certified Management Accountant certification

The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

- Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments
- Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program
- Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements

We are committed to your professional success at UMGC. Each new faculty member is required to successfully complete our online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire.
