Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletics Director – Major Gifts. This role will be responsible for advancing major gift fundraising strategies.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, the Assistant AD – Major Gifts will lead efforts to secure philanthropic support for capital projects, scholarships, and other Athletics priorities. This role will collaborate across departments including Advancement, Foundation, Ticketing, and Donor Relations to ensure seamless fundraising operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors; developing and maintaining personalized relationships to secure commitments in support of Athletics priorities.
  • Assisting in strategic leadership of the Mizzou Athletics Fund, including long-term growth plans and alignment with capital campaign goals.
  • Collaborating with coaches and internal stakeholders to identify funding needs and donor engagement opportunities.
  • Preparing and presenting major gift proposals to high level donors and constituents.
  • Conducting prospect research and identification that will lead to the solicitation of individual major gifts.
  • Submitting plans to reach goals for fundraising and premium seating sales.
  • Managing donor relationships and prospects with the goal of increasing both capital gift and annual giving support for Mizzou Athletics.
  • Collaborating with other university staff to best match donors’ philanthropic interests with current Mizzou Athletics priorities.
  • Working with various departments to ensure effective stewardship and timely fulfillment of athletic donor benefits.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights and Weekends, as required by events

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Display a track record of securing and executing high-profile gifts.
  • Strong understanding of premium seating operations and donor relations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software, as needed.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Grade: GGS MKT
