Assistant Clinical Professor of Health Sciences, beginning August 2026
The Department of Health Sciences, in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) at Providence College (also referred to as "the College" or "PC"), seeks to fill an assistant clinical professor position to begin in the fall 2026 (i.e., August) semester. We are seeking applicants with teaching, research, and/or clinical practice experience in the health and/or human biological sciences. The successful candidate will have primary teaching responsibilities in Anatomy and Physiology, serving undergraduate students in the health sciences, nursing, and related majors preparing for health-related careers. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to participate in the department's team-taught senior seminar in health sciences and develop and teach other courses in their area of interest and specialization. Successful candidates will contribute department, college, and professional service according to the college's expectations of renewable contingent faculty. Candidates with an earned doctorate in health sciences, biological sciences, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
This is an exciting and historic opportunity to join PC's newly established School of Nursing and Health Sciences and help shape an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum for the next generation of students entering nursing and other health professions. The 153,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art Ben Mondor Center for Nursing and Health Sciences houses the School's current and future undergraduate and graduate programs. This one-of-a-kind facility, which opened in January 2025, features the latest classroom designs and technologies and showcases expansive clinical simulation and research facilities, including a human performance laboratory and an environmental chamber.
The department includes two purpose-built classrooms and laboratories dedicated to teaching anatomy and physiology for the health professions. These spaces feature the latest technology, such as Anatomage Tables—the most advanced real-human-based 3D anatomy and medical education system. The building also contains a student career education and advising center, along with conference and meeting space, as part of the inspiring resources designed to support the next generation of healthcare providers, faculty, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in human anatomy, human physiology, or a closely related biological or biomedical discipline. Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior college-level teaching experience in Anatomy & Physiology, especially for health-science or nursing majors. Ability to integrate technology and learning management systems into instruction. Record of scholarly, clinical, or professional activity relevant to anatomy, physiology, or health sciences.
