"Assistant Director for Campus Activities - FSL/Involvement"

Consistent with the college's mission of providing a useful education for engaged citizens, the Assistant Director will play an integral role in the development and implementation of community initiatives that provide students with practical leadership experiences and assist in facilitating successful student events and initiatives. Specifically, the Assistant Director for Campus Activities works with student involvement and Fraternity and Sorority Life within the department of Campus Life. This position advises the Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and the Fraternity & Sorority Life President's Council and supports the Panhellenic Council during primary and COB recruitment periods. In addition, the Assistant Director is a primary point person for the management of EngageD (Campus Labs Engage) and supports involvement programs including but not limited to, the Student Activities Fair. The incumbent creates a vision for student involvement within a liberal arts setting that intentionally supports an engaging academic and intellectual environment for students beyond the classroom walls to prepare Dickinsonians to be citizen leaders with lives of purpose and success. They should create and facilitate distinctive conditions and programs throughout the campus that intentionally foster learning, promote inclusion and self-governance, and seek engagement from its members.

• Provide support for the fraternity and sorority community by developing and implementing programs including but not limited to Officer and President Roundtables, hazing prevent education, Greek week, Greek 101 for new members, and support the College Panhellenic Council during primary and continuous open recruitment. Works to ensure the smooth transition of leadership with the Panhellenic Council, the Inter-Fraternity Council, the FSL President's Council, and chapter presidents. Assists with chapter leadership development that may include attendance at regional/national conferences/training.
• Develop and execute regular meetings and workshops for campus faculty, staff, and alumni FSL advisors. Advise and support the Fraternity and Sorority scholarship and leadership honor societies.
• Facilitate student involvement through clubs and organizations. Work to ensure the smooth transition of club and organization leadership. Serve as the main point of contact for Dickinson's EngageD platform (Anthology Engage); and work collaboratively with campus partners on the event approval process (including events with alcohol). Create and provide training to student organization staff and faculty advisors around advising best practices. Design and implement club and officer training opportunities in the fall and spring semesters.
• Create innovative and relevant opportunities, incorporating the Dickinson Four, for students to engage and find a place they feel they belong and ensure student-centered opportunities for engagement and well-being.
• Coordinate and implement a comprehensive Welcome Week program, a semesterly Activities Fair, semesterly study breaks, the campus Charter Day celebration, and other large-scale events.
• Support the development and assessment of goals and student learning outcomes for Fraternity & Sorority Life and student involvement.
• Oversee the development and implementation of procedures, policies and protocols that minimize risk and give students clear guidance.

Preferred Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree. One year professional experience or two years of a graduate assistantship in Student Activities. Experience with Fraternity & Sorority Life preferred. Preferred: Master's Degree – Counseling, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or related field
