Assistant Director for Transfer and Adult Students
The primary purpose of this position is recruitment with an emphasis on transfer and adult students. This position will recruit and cultivate prospects, applicants, and admitted students through direct participation in a variety of activities, articulate admissions procedures and requirements to prospective students, parents, and counselors, evaluate credentials, and make independent decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission to UNCG, and positively affect admitted students’ decisions to matriculate to UNCG.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience in college admissions recruitment with a focus on undergraduate transfer and adult admissions recruitment.
- Strong written and presentation skills, impeccable follow-through, working well independently while also working amicably with team members.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to make independent decisions when interpreting policy and to make research-based decisions regarding the potential for success of specific recruitment initiatives.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- 2-3 years of previous experience in admissions, particularly working with community college students.
- Preferred experience in AdmissionPros, Slate, Banner, or other comparable system software.
