Position Overview:

The Academy seeks a Assistant Director of Financial Aid to lead the operational and fiscal administration of the Financial Aid Offices for the New York campus. S/he must demonstrate a strong ability to make independent judgments, self-direct work flow, and collaborate with the financial aid personnel to organize and prioritize in order to meet strict deadlines. We are seeking a customer-service oriented, hands-on employee who enjoys working with developing artists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to regulations pertaining to the administration and awarding of financial aid funds
  • Award and monitor federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, loan and work-study funds
  • Ensure compliance and appropriate reporting and record-keeping for financial aid agencies
  • Provide timely and customer- oriented service to US and international students
  • Develop policies, procedures, forms, informational documents, and other communications as needed
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Department to facilitate student enrollment, and with the Business Office to ensure timely and accurate student financial data and collections.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Effective and precise written and oral communication skills
  • Strong skills in data management and reporting
  • Proven track record in meeting established goals and deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines
  • Comfort in interacting with various groups including students, families, staff, and faculty

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years experience in Financial Aid and experience required
  • Experience in higher education required
  • Experience with NSLDS, EDExpress, COD, G5
  • Must be a current resident of the New York area

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full time exempt position with a competitive salary and generous benefits package including health, vision, and life insurance and a 401k plan. No relocation costs provided.
