Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
The Marketing Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2026.
Candidates with experience teaching marketing research, marketing analytics, digital marketing analytics, consumer behavior, or sales are encouraged to apply. The candidate is also expected to conduct scholarly research activities that result in high-quality, peer-reviewed publications and to provide service to advance the mission of the department, school, university, and academy.
A research-active faculty should expect to maintain a 3/2 teaching load. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marketing professionals by envisioning new programs and embracing a growth mindset. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in both face-to-face and online instruction.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Marketing or a related field from an AACSB accredited school. NOTE: Applicants with earned degrees will be given preference. ABD's will be considered; however, PHD must be conferred by August 1, 2026, to be eligible for employment.
- ABD candidates with a Ph.D. conferred by August 1, 2026, can anticipate an initial appointment as Assistant Professor.
- Selected candidates with a Ph.D. nearly completed (ABD, not conferred by August 1, 2026) can anticipate an initial appointment as Lecturer at a reduced salary for a one-year fixed-term appointment. Degree verification must be provided before the end of the one-year fixed-term contract, and the candidate will be appointed to the rank of assistant professor with commensurate compensation beginning July 1 of the following academic year.

The Marketing Department at UNCW is seeking an innovative and dynamic individual with a proven track record in teaching marketing courses such as:
- Marketing Research
- Marketing Analytics
- Digital Marketing Analytics
- Consumer Behavior
- Professional Selling
- Sales Management

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Marketing department serves over 600 undergraduate majors and offers degrees in two areas: (1) Marketing Strategy and (2) Professional Selling. The Cameron School of Business' Marketing Department is home to the Center for Sales Excellence & Customer Delight. The Department also offers a course in the Cameron School core curriculum, as well as a Marketing specialization in the MBA program and several courses in multiple business masters' programs.

Prior to the official appointment to the university, the candidates selected for hire must be able to demonstrate eligibility to teach assigned courses by successfully meeting the credentialing requirements based on official transcripts and other documentation as required.
