Assistant or Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management
The Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Cameron School of Business, invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in Supply Chain Management to begin August 2026, subject to availability of funds.
Candidates must show promise and evidence of excellence in teaching face-to-face and online, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and be able to teach in at least two of the following areas: Quality management, Product and service development, Logistics, transportation, and distribution management, Supply chain management.
A focused research agenda with an established record of publication or strong potential for publication is expected.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. Applicants with earned degrees will be given preference. ABD candidates will be considered; however, PhD must be conferred by August 1, 2026, to be eligible for employment. ABD candidates with a Ph.D. conferred by August 1, 2026, can anticipate an initial appointment as Assistant Professor. Selected candidates with a Ph.D. nearly completed (ABD, not conferred by August 1, 2026) can anticipate an initial appointment as Lecturer at a reduced salary for a one-year fixed-term appointment. Degree verification must be provided before the end of the one-year fixed-term contract, and the candidate will be appointed to the rank of assistant professor with commensurate compensation beginning July 1 of the following academic year.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Evidence of excellence in teaching face-to-face and online, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Be able to teach in at least two of the following areas: quality management, supply chain management, service operations, transportation management, and project management. A focused teaching agenda with an established teaching record or strong potential for publication.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate courses and graduate courses that support the department's programs, advise majors, and develop a teaching program that engages undergraduate students.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit: Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics, and Information Systems supports the Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Business Analytics, Information Systems and Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. At the graduate level, the School supports the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Supply Chain Management.
