Assistant Professor – Aviation Flight with Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI)
Teach a full load of Flight and Ground classes in the University’s department's Part 141 flight program. Administration and oversight of the 141-flight program under the direction of the Department Chair. Provide and oversee primary, advanced, and multi-engine flight instruction in the department's aircraft. Maintain active research including involving students in that research. Provide academic advising to current flight students. Assist with the supervision of the student flight instructors. Assist with the weekly supervision of all flight line activities. Provide IT support for maintaining the department’s flight simulators and for the department’s faculty and staff.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Technology or related field. Must have some academic knowledge or experience in each of the following skills: FAA part 141 flight schools; Multiple operating systems used for flight simulation, including both hardware and software; Managing flight school scheduling software; Maintaining and managing Frasca, Flightdeck Solutions and Alsim flight training simulation devices; teaching academic aviation classes; Garmin 1000 equipped Piper aircraft; and Piper PA28-180, PA28-181 and PA44-180 aircraft.
Must hold a FAA Commercial Pilot - airplane single and multi-engine land and instrument airplane rating Certificate.
Must hold FAA Flight Instructor - airplane single and multi-engine and instrument airplane rating Certificate.
