POSITION SUMMARY:
Rogers State University is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position in Biology.
The Bachelor of Science in Biology program offers four options: Medical Molecular Biology, Environmental Conservation, General Biology, and Medical Lab Science (3+1). The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in Molecular Biology, Human Anatomy, Microbiology, and Introductory Biology. Teaching experience in Bioinformatics or at the secondary education level is considered an asset. Travel to our Bartlesville and Pryor campuses may be required.
In addition to teaching, responsibilities include mentoring undergraduate research, contributing to curriculum development, advising students, and participating in service to the university and the community.
- Start date: August 1, 2026. Application review will begin in early January. To receive full consideration, applications should be submitted by December 31, 2025. Applications received after this date may be reviewed as needed.
- Candidates holding a Ph.D. in Biological Science or a related field will be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor (tenure track).
- Candidates with a master’s degree and extensive teaching experience may be considered for appointment as Instructor (non-tenure track).
PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver high-quality courses based on the candidate’s expertise and areas of interest
- Conduct research in the field of molecular and cellular biology
- Mentor and advise students in their academic and research endeavors
- Contribute to the growth and development of the biology department
- Participate in service to the university and the broader community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in biology or a related field is highly preferred (candidates with a master’s degree and significant teaching and research experience will also be considered)
- Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students
- Demonstrated research expertise in molecular and cellular biology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
