The University emphasizes training in the delivery of interprofessional health care and considers behavioral health to be a critical component of effective health care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

All full-time faculty members employed by RFUMS are expected to engage in activities that are considered core to their primary role as a faculty member. These activities may include teaching, scholarly activity, and service.

Teaching responsibilities include:

• Curriculum management: Serve as the Course Director for Chemistry and Physics in Anesthesia (nurse anesthesia students and non-degree seeking students).
• Direct instruction: Provide face-to-face instruction of nurse anesthesia students in the classroom and/or simulation lab one day per week in the Spring-Summer and Fall quarters.
• Advising and mentoring for students: Serve as a faculty mentor for 2-3 students per cohort for didactic and clinical residency training
• Scholarly activities: Serve as a Doctoral Project Advisor for 1-2 projects
• Service activities: Serve as a member of the Faculty Committee

Scholarly activities and/or clinical activities are negotiated and determined at the department level and are primarily based upon the faculty track.

Required Education & Experience

Doctorate degree, current NBCRNA CRNA certification, current unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA in the United States, active clinical practice as a CRNA

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of nurse anesthesia didactic theory and clinical practice requirements for CRNAs

Preferred Qualifications

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP or DNAP) or PhD
