Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Architecture
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Architecture in the Department of Architecture with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position, and the work is to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in architecture courses at the undergraduate level, including Architecture Studio, as well as in at least one of the following areas of specialization: Environmental Systems & Building Performance, Digital Architecture, Computational Design, Fabrication, Material Innovation, or Robotic Construction.
- Engage in significant research, scholarship, and/or creative activities in an area of specialization. Faculty members are expected to develop and sustain a robust research agenda that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and practice in their chosen field.
- Participate in department, college, and/or university service activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and productive academic environment.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- An earned Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire. OR a terminal Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture (M.Arch) or a closely related discipline AND Professional Architectural Registration is required at the time of hire.
- Record of past teaching in Architecture Studio and an area of specialization.
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarship and/or creative activities.
- For Associate Professor position: Demonstrated record of research capability including publications and grants, an established body of research including external funding record and academic background, and appropriate credentials to be hired as a tenure track Associate Professor.
Preferred Qualifications
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Environmental Systems & Building Performance, Digital Architecture, Computational Design, Fabrication, Material Innovation, or Robotic Construction.
