The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire an outstanding clinical neurologist to work with general neurology patients at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is a full-time, 12-month service period appointment (July 1 – June 30) at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure by reason of funding). Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

This individual will be a member of a busy academic service performing a variety of clinical duties including outpatient clinical care at the UW Neurology Clinic and general neurology inpatient attending at UWMC and/or Harborview Medical Center. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $19,236 - $21,462 per month ($230,832 to $257,544 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Our salaries are benchmarked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1, 2025.

Qualifications

Requires an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent. Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
