Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Carl Albert State College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Wrestling Coach at the Poteau campus. This position shares the responsibility of teaching the skills, fundamentals, and principles of the specific sport to both mens and womens teams. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of physical health, team concepts, and safety. Mentored by the head coaches, he/she will plan, organize, coordinate, implement, and recruit the assigned athletic activity; also drive and/or supervise team members during away games. He/she will be accountable for a share of the Mick Thompson duties including camps, concessions/gate, tournaments, NJCAA match days, wrestling equipment, mats, and uniforms (including laundry). Assistant coaches are preferred to live on campus (room, utilities and meal card provided) to allow for monitoring student athletes, room checks, discipline and reporting team discipline, when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred
• Previous coaching experience at the college level preferred and high school experience required
• Must demonstrate a dedication to the teaching function and show professional competence and enthusiasm in the performance of all responsibilities
• Oklahoma CDL with bus endorsement preferred; if not, will be required to acquire within first 90 days
• Preferred experience with both Mens & Womens Wrestling

SALARY: $25,000 Associates, $33,000 Bachelors, full benefit package is included. Benefit package includes: Employer paid Medical, Dental, Life, Long-term Disability, Oklahoma Teachers Retirement, Vacation and Sick days.
