Associate Data Architect for University Information
Position Information
The Office of Institutional Analysis (OIA) at the University at Buffalo is seeking an Associate Data Architect for University Information to join our collaborative information team. This position supports operational and strategic planning for senior university officials and academic unit decision makers, as well as the creation, collection, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative information about the institution, its students, faculty, programs, publics, practices, and services.
The work involves developing accurate, comprehensive, and trusted information products, systems, and processes for policy formulation, institutional reporting, and university assessment activities. The incumbent will also provide support for information-intensive projects across university operations.

The Office has primary responsibility for collecting and analyzing information on the institution and provides analytic support for planning, evaluation, and policy initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or professional certification with 1 year of experience. Required competencies include:
- Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities.
- Deep knowledge of UB’s student operations and systems.
- Extensive background in transforming systems information into actionable products.
- Solid project management, technical, and leadership skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, reporting tools like Tableau, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
- Demonstrated skills in providing creative information solutions in a complex environment.
- Superior organizational skills and ability to display information effectively.
- Solid communication and public speaking skills.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with at least three years of experience in central university systems, including student systems administration and policy development.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000
