Associate Dean of Clinical Education
Job Summary
This is a College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest (COMP-Northwest) Administration-level position within Western University of Health Science and is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role of Associate Dean of Clinical Education (PCN A03136) and the faculty role (PCN F03265) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE).

The primary purpose of the Associate Dean, Department of Clinical Education is to develop, implement, and monitor the third- and fourth-year curriculum for students pursuing the DO degree at WesternU/COMP. This includes collaboration in the development of core third- and fourth-year curricula, direct and general supervision of all personnel in the Department of Clinical Education at COMP-Northwest; and collaboration with all other pertinent departments that contribute toward the third and fourth year WesternU/COMP curriculum. The Associate Dean will be responsible to ensure COMP-Northwest has adequate clerkships for all COMP-Northwest third- and fourth-year students.
This is an administration position that includes a faculty appointment.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $240,000.00 Annually
Maximum: $255,000.00 Annually
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Abilities:
- Ability to communicate with others, in person, in writing, and utilizing a telephone.
- Ability to effectively interact with COMP-Northwest administration, faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders including hospital administration, hospital system administration and preceptors.
- Must possess strong organization, management, and administrative abilities.
- Ability to successfully interact with faculty and with other departments and functional areas as an insightful listener and problem solver.
- Ability to prepare and present professional reports, proposals, and research findings to various stakeholder groups in both written and oral form.
- Be committed to a career in academic medicine in the field of osteopathic medicine.
- Ability to establish priorities and implement strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
- Committed to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Medical Doctor (MD) degree.
Residency trained and Board Certification in specialty of training.
Licensure & Certifications:
Unrestricted medical license. Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency Certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years teaching in a clinical or medical school academic setting.
Minimum of 3 years experience as an Assistant Dean or comparable leadership position.
