Position Purpose
In partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer and Tuck Advancement leadership, the Associate Director of Advancement Initiatives serves as a senior execution partner and trusted advisor, supporting the implementation of Advancement strategy. The Associate Director plays a central role in prospect management and the deployment of the Dean, driving the planning, coordination, and follow-through required to advance relationships with Tuck’s top prospects and to support cultivation events. This role ensures the coordinated and effective execution of priorities across major giving, annual giving, alumni engagement, and campaign operations.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in advancement, higher education administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects, senior leaders, and/or frontline fundraisers in an academic or nonprofit environment.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with and frequent use of tools and platforms to streamline and enhance work (including but not limited to donor reporting, Microsoft Suite, and AI).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting high-level correspondence and briefing materials.
- Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate across teams, and work effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- High degree of discretion, professionalism, and comfort working with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with prospect management, donor engagement, and philanthropic best practices.

Key Accountabilities
1. Prospect Management: Partners with senior gift officers to implement strategy for top alumni prospects, supporting coordinated cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans. Coordinates and tracks the Dean’s engagement with prospects, along with pipeline activity, key interactions, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and momentum. Monitors the engagement and philanthropic activity of high-potential prospects, identifies opportunities for deepening relationships, and recommends prospects to appropriate gift officers based on demonstrated readiness for increased commitments.

2. Advancement Coordination and Project Management: Supports the execution and operationalization of Advancement priorities, ensuring follow-through on complex, cross-functional initiatives. Manages projects that advance strategic goals, aligning timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables. Supports preparation for high-level Advancement and donor meetings, including agenda development, slides, and post-meeting follow-up. Works closely with Advancement colleagues at Tuck and Dartmouth to ensure seamless coordination, effective information flow, and progress on donor engagement efforts.

3. Events and Donor Cultivation: In partnership with the Director of Engagement, supports the planning and execution of select donor-hosted, cultivation, and stewardship events, including small-group engagements, campus visits, and regional or virtual programs. Partners across the Advancement team to ensure donor-facing engagements align with prospect strategies and institutional priorities. Assists in managing donor visit and event request pipelines, ensuring a high level of personalization and responsiveness.
