Job Summary

The Cluster of Regenerative Engineering & Materials (REM) within the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking an Associate or Full Professor to enhance research and education in regenerative medicine. The role involves conducting frontier research, developing innovative bioengineering solutions, and educating future professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop internationally leading research in fields aligned with REM and publish in authoritative journals.
• Initiate and coordinate multidisciplinary research projects with external funding.
• Strengthen collaborations within the cluster, department, TU/e, the Dutch regenerative medicine ecosystem, and internationally.
• Cultivate networks with external partners for research and innovation.
• Provide academic guidance and leadership to working groups and committees.
• Initiate, develop, teach, and improve courses for BSc, MSc, and PhD programs.
• Supervise and mentor BSc, MSc, EngD, PhD students, and postdocs.
• Conduct research in shared laboratories using advanced infrastructure.

Qualifications and Requirements

• PhD in regenerative engineering or a related field, with a profile complementary to current research lines such as controlled release, computational biomaterials science, organ-on-chip models, neural tissue engineering, and genetic engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality academic research, evidenced by sustained funding and impactful outputs.
• Experience or assistance in teaching, with an informed vision on teaching and learning.
• Strong cooperation skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring.
• Experience in translating research to clinical procedures and commercial products.
• Excellent proficiency in English.
