The base pay range for this position is $250,000 - $500,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Position description
The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, Department of Urology is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking an outstanding academic leader to serve as Chief of Pediatric Urology and join a large, collaborative group practice of urologists within a nationally recognized academic health system.
The role will involve leading and advancing a comprehensive Pediatric Urology program, including management of a diverse and complex patient population drawn from a large regional referral base. The role will also involve managing a diverse patient population coming from a large referral area and practice and coverage at Rady Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will play a central role in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and will be expected to foster excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
(required at time of application)
- Candidates must have an MD or equivalent or an MD/PhD in health-related fields.
- Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.
- Candidates must have completed a Urology residency program.
- Candidates must have completed a Pediatric Urology fellowship program.
- Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Urology.
Preferred qualifications
- Candidates with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in complex reconstructive urology (spina bifida, cloaca, re-do hypospadias) are preferred.
- Candidates who have built a successful pediatric urology research program are preferred.
