Carleton University invites applications from outstanding research scholars for an NSERC Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Health Care Simulation, to be held at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor, with tenure.
Research Focus
The Chair’s research program must align with the subject matter eligibility of NSERC, with a primary emphasis on technology development and application, while clearly demonstrating impact within health and health care contexts. Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to:
- Health care simulation systems and platforms.
- Artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches to simulation, training, and performance assessment.
- Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality applications in healthcare delivery, education and practice.
- Human-centered systems design and outcome-based evaluation in simulated environments.
- Computational modeling and analytics to support healthcare decision-making, learning, and safety.
- Simulation-based NSE innovations in healthcare.
Qualifications
Carleton University requires:
- A PhD in health technology, computer science, engineering, nursing with a technology focus, or a closely related discipline.
- An internationally recognized record of research excellence and leadership appropriate for an NSERC Tier 1 CRC nomination.
- A sustained record of high-impact publications and successful external NSE-focused research funding.
- Demonstrated exceptional training and mentorship program for diverse undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows.
