The Department of Chemistry at the University of Michigan is a dynamic department with a long tradition of excellence in the chemical sciences. We invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in organic chemistry (broadly defined) with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2026. This is a university-year appointment and will be at the level of assistant professor, tenured associate, or full professor. We seek candidates who will cultivate an internationally recognized program of scholarly research, excel in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels, promote an inclusive academic environment, and commit to building a diverse intellectual community.
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree. Materials should include a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, a statement of current and future research plans, evidence of teaching excellence (if available), and a statement of teaching philosophy and experience. This statement should describe your approach as an educator in formal courses, as a mentor in the research lab, and possibly as an advocate in scientific outreach.
