JOB TITLE:
Assistant Professor
JOB PURPOSE:
The faculty member will provide methodological support for graduate students in the college. In addition, the successful candidate will maintain a scholarly research agenda and provide service to the program, school, college, university, and the profession.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The faculty member will be expected to teach master's and doctoral level courses in Educational Research, to include both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Furthermore, the faculty member will be expected to support graduate students throughout the college by serving on student committees.
In the area of research, the faculty member will be expected to maintain an active publication agenda to include publications such as peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and/or presentations at conference venues related to educational research.
Service expectations include but are not limited to collaboration with program faculty, college committees, university committees, and work with the profession.
Assistant professors shall hold a doctoral degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) and shall have demonstrated ability, through appropriate experience, to perform the functions of the position they are to hold.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned doctorate in Educational Research or related area, completion by date of hire
- Methodological expertise, specifically qualitative research, in educational research
- Experience and/or interest in teaching online
- Demonstrated potential for scholarly writing and research
- Interest in working with graduate students and faculty in a variety of disciplines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Higher ed teaching experience
- Experience in consulting on research methods
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborations across disciplines
- Participation in professional associations
