Job Description
Program Coordinators in the Workforce Solutions Division of Meridian Community College are integral representatives of the institution. They are to be a strong advocate of their related career field, and passionate about transferring the knowledge and experience they have gained to instruct, mentor, and prepare Meridian Community College Students for the Workforce. Program Coordinators are to oversee the curriculum and operation of their respective programs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or a related field
- Three (3) years of work experience as an automotive technician
- Experience with modern diagnostic tools and repair procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications (one or more preferred)
- Ability to teach and mentor students with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Commitment to safety practices and industry standards
- Teaching or training experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and industry partners
- Experience working with electric, hybrid, or advanced vehicle technologies
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move about the automotive lab for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate, demonstrate, and work around automotive tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work in positions that require stooping, kneeling, reaching, or crouching while demonstrating repair procedures
- Visual and manual dexterity necessary to perform and demonstrate tasks involving small parts, wiring, and precision tools
- Ability to tolerate exposure to typical shop environments, including noise, odors, chemicals (with proper PPE), and varying temperatures
- Ability to communicate clearly with students in a lab and classroom setting, including giving verbal instructions over background noise
