Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching lecture and laboratory courses in biological sciences, including anatomy and physiology and general biology; academic advising; developing curriculum for traditional and online courses; maintaining office hours; utilizing technology, and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction. Course schedules may include day, evening and online courses on multiple campuses. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a master's degree in biology or a master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in biology.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with at least two (2) years of demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate biology courses at the community college level. Experience with instructional technology and online course management systems is also preferred. Academic advising and online teaching experience at the community college level are a plus. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to undergraduate education are essential.
