"Business Data Analyst"

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to perform professional level technical work in data management, data analysis, data visualization, and report preparation to support the operations and decisions of the Business Services unit. The Business Data Analyst position is structured to combine business acumen and data analysis to produce comprehensive reporting and advising for business managers and academic personnel overseeing revenue generating units in academic, non-academic, and auxiliary areas.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required in a Data Analytics, Data Science, Business, Finance, Advanced Analytics, or similar discipline that includes course work in data analytics. Masters degree preferred. Two (2) years of work experience in data analytics or business analytics required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, SQL, and Power BI or other data visualization software required. Knowledge of Banner and higher education experience a plus.

Class Specific Essential Duties

1. Develop and maintain data files.
2. Perform analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
3. Serve as point of contact for internal units and external organizations.
4. Prepare and analyze reports, as requested.
5. Assist college departments and/or staff, as required.
