Business Operations Specialist

The Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is in search of Business Operations Specialist who will coordinate daily business operations for the Division of Infectious Diseases that is comprised of approximately 35 faculty members, multiple inpatient services and ambulatory locations, and a fellowship program.

Essential Functions may include:

  • Manage and monitor the day-to-day administrative operations for the ID division including procurement, travel, pre and post award grant support.
  • Serve as liaison between program directors, clinical faculty, and institutional departments including HR and Finance.
  • Facilitate recruitment requests from Division Director.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and faculty to enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, or other related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of business-related experience to position required, with at least one (1) year experience in at least two of the following: human resources, payroll, finance, facility, or research administration.

Other: N/A. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Hiring Range: $67,500 - $75,000, commensurate with education and experience
