The University of California Irvine's Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) housed in the Office of Educational & Community Partnerships (OECP), creates collaborations that support preparation for and success in higher education. Our focus is on helping students from under-resourced schools become competitive college applicants, thereby contributing to the University of California' success and its goal of academic excellence. The position is also housed in the Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE). OIE offers signature programs to promote awareness, understanding and skills that value diversity, support equity and inclusion, and honor free speech.

The California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) program is part of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation initiative. The program's objective is to significantly increase the number of students that complete UCI degree programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. CAMP is especially focused on augmenting undergraduate STEM education through experiential learning, community building, and the sharing of information for underserved groups in STEM.

Under the general direction of the Executive Director - Strategic Initiatives | CAMP Statewide Program Director, the incumbent assumes full functional responsibility for planning, managing and evaluating the California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) UCI program. Directly responsible for supervision of two CAMP Program Professionals and directly supervises several student staff. Prepares annual science summer programs, plans and develops strategies to meet systemwide, statewide, and campus goals and various written statistical reports reflecting progress toward goals. Prepares annual proposed and operating science program budgets. Responsible for ensuring the successful coordination of CAMP activities with the following: UCI faculty, targeted under-represented minoritized students and communities; postsecondary institutions including other UC campuses, the CSU system, private colleges, community colleges, precollegiate developmental programs, Subject Matter Projects, and the business sector. Assists the CAMP Statewide Evaluation team in evaluating overall CAMP efforts and makes recommendations to the Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives for changes.

As a seasoned, experienced professional in K-14 academic preparation, independently works with assigned institutions and organizations to plan and implement a wide range of academic preparation programming. Develops and maintains program visibility in schools. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with K-14 and higher education institutions and / or community entities. Develops collaborative relationships with other college-going programs.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $58,600-$77,500 (Annual).

Required: Strong knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies. Knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. Demonstrated supervisory skills. Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; UC faculty and administrators, community college and school district faculty and administrators, community leaders, students and parents. Experience in representing the University in such a way so as to promote goodwill and public support. Experience with budget development, management, implementation and presentation of same. Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status and experience working with diverse populations. Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Extensive experience in establishing and maintaining educational partnerships such as higher education administrators, faculty, advisors, and community contacts. Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, implementing and evaluating precollegiate developmental programs and academic development programs at the secondary and post-secondary school levels. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Master's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. 5-10 years Experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population.

Preferred: Doctoral degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
