Job Description:

Are you creative, organized, and eager to build real-world marketing experience in a collaborative academic environment? City University in Canada is seeking a motivated Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing team. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across digital and traditional marketing, while supporting initiatives that shape our brand and connect future students to our campus community.

The Marketing Assistant plays an important supporting role in brand awareness and student recruitment efforts, contributing to content creation, campaign coordination, events, and digital engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and publish engaging content across digital channels, including the website, social media platforms, and email newsletters.
  • Support the execution of marketing and student recruitment campaigns by coordinating assets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Design and adapt marketing materials using Canva or Adobe tools (social graphics, flyers, brochures, presentations).
  • Assist with maintaining and updating website content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Organize and manage photo libraries, design files, and shared marketing assets.
  • Track and manage promotional materials (swag), including preparation and distribution for events.
  • Provide support for occasional in-person events or meetings on campus or at off-site locations.
  • Assist with light video editing for social media and web use, such as trimming clips, adding subtitles, and applying basic transitions.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Illustrator and/or InDesign).
  • Basic familiarity with WordPress and Eventbrite.
  • Social media savvy, with an understanding of how to create engaging content for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Comfortable using basic video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Rush, CapCut, iMovie, or similar).
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Work is generally performed remotely with the requirements of necessary onsite support.

Salary:

CAD 23 - 27/hour. This is a part-time position (20 hours/week).
