The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a Care and Wellbeing Coordinator in our Health and Wellness Center which is part of our Office of Student Accessibility and Wellness (SAW). The Care and Wellbeing Coordinator plays a key role in the College's behavioral intervention efforts, providing case management services to students referred through the College's behavioral intervention team, counseling services and other wraparound support programs. This position will ensure timely follow-up, coordinates resources, and delivers holistic support to students facing personal, academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges that may impact their well-being and academic success.

The Care and Wellbeing Coordinator coordinates wellness initiatives for the Office Student Accessibility and Wellness (SAW), and directly supervises the peer ambassador team. This role requires a compassionate, highly organized professional with expertise in student development, crisis response, and collaborative care models. The Care and Wellbeing Coordinator promotes a trauma informed, strengths-based environment that supports both peer-to-peer engagement and ambassador growth.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Serves as the lead case manager for college-wide behavioral intervention/care team referrals, managing all follow-up communication with students, faculty/staff reporters, and relevant support offices;
  • Maintains detailed and confidential case notes using appropriate software platforms, following college protocol and FERPA guidelines;
  • Conducts initial intake meetings and assessments to determine immediate needs, including and not limited to housing, food insecurity, transportation, mental health, or academic concerns;
  • Provides short- and long-term case management for students in distress, ensuring continuity of care and facilitating referrals to on- and off-campus resources;
  • Collaborates with counseling and community mental health providers to support transitions and follow-through on care plans;
  • Develops proactive approaches to reduce student barriers and support retention and persistence;
  • Co-leads wellness campaigns;
  • Oversees marketing of wellness initiatives, serving as liaison between third-party wellness tools and college personnel;
  • Acts as a central point of contact for faculty and staff seeking guidance on supporting student referrals;
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises student wellness ambassadors. Oversees programming, campus outreach, and evaluation of peer impact engagement;
  • Designs and delivers training curriculum in collaboration with the college staff;
  • Coordinates SAW ambassador programming, campus visibility, and evaluation of peer impact and engagement;
  • Other duties related to this job description and assigned by the Director, Student Accessibility and Wellness.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm with the ability to work evening and weekend hours, as needed

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related field
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in higher education student support, case management, social work, counseling, or behavioral intervention
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse and underrepresented student populations
  • Familiarity with community mental health resources and wraparound support models
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Higher Education, Counseling, or related area
  • Experience working directly on or with a behavioral intervention team in a college or university setting
  • Strong knowledge of FERPA, ADA, Title IX, and best practices in student wellness and early intervention
  • Experience supervising student leaders or peer educators
