Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Provide career counseling, career exploration, and career search strategies to individual students and groups.
- Develop and conduct career-related presentations using various delivery formats for academic classes, student organizations, and other related campus units.
- Promote partnerships, collaborations, and positive relationships to promote the work of university career services to faculty and staff across the Georgia State University community.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers.
- Mount career-related events such as career and job fairs, panels, and networking to connect students with employers.
- Develop career services and career counseling approaches for underrepresented student populations, including, but not limited to, students who are nontraditional, veterans, and returning.
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and college departments to identify, define, and meet student career planning and career search needs, including setting student success goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the identification, analysis, and assessment of student success outcomes. Maintain accurate student records and collect data for reporting purposes while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Oversee special programs, retention projects, and activities as assigned.
- Participate fully in the overall activities of university career services.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Master's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Experience working with college students or career-seeking adults in a college or career services setting.
- Knowledge of career management systems.
- Dynamic presenter
- Ability to work with diverse populations
