Cashier 3 -Bookstore
Under general direction, lead assigned bookstore employees in all retail and/or service bookstore operations such as customer service, sales, ordering, receiving, inventory, cash control, promotions, merchandising, and/or service functions. Perform assigned tasks such as maintaining control records of receipts, verifies daily records of receipts, prepares and inputs data in computer. Order and receive assigned store merchandise. Serve as an assistant to the bookstore director as needed.

- Assists customers and employees with questions.
- Provide great customer service.
- Position may lead or supervise lower-level staff.
- Operates registers as required in cashiering function.
- Verifies, consolidates, and balances cash receipts, makes and maintains reports and records of cash flow, prepares daily bank deposits as assigned.
- Prepares computer inputted documents.
- Safeguards monies within bookstore.
- Conducts monthly safe counts.
- Coach and mentor part time student employees to improve customer service, correct cash handling, stocking, cleaning, and straighten sales floor.
- Order and receive assigned store merchandise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience with a computerized Point of Sale inventory system
- Demonstrated outstanding retail & customer service skills.
- Demonstrated strong computer skills (experience w/ Microsoft Office products)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience with a computerized Point of Sale inventory system
- Three (3) years of experience in retail or in customer service-oriented field
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
