The Enterprise Data Office is seeking an experienced Change Manager to support the adoption of data, process and technology changes across the University.
About the Role
The change manager will work closely with EDO project delivery teams, EDO Leadership and stakeholders across UNSW to build awareness, readiness and capability for change.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake and have experience in the following areas of expertise:
- Lead the Change for multiple enterprise data initiatives, aligned with the UNSW change management framework and the EDO change approach.
- Deliver end-to-end change management activity with comprehensive documentation, integrated with the EDO project delivery framework.
- Develop and deliver high-quality change documentation, including stakeholder identification and engagement plans, business impact assessments, change and communication plans, training plans where necessary, business readiness assessment and progress reporting.
- Identify and segment stakeholders to ensure communication, engagement and learning activities are targeted, relevant and effective for different audiences across the University.
- Work with project teams, EDO leaders and Faculty and Division stakeholders to identify the most effective engagement channels, meetings and forums for each initiative.
- Develop and deliver high quality communication artefacts, including key messages, PowerPoint presentations, learning materials, leader-led communications, intranet or article-style updates, briefing packs and other materials that create a professional and coherent narrative around change.
- Identify, assess and manage change-related risks, issues and resistance, and develop practical mitigation strategies in collaboration with project leaders.
- Support senior leaders and project teams through coaching, advice and change tools that build confidence and change capability within our Team.
- Actively seek feedback and use stakeholder insights, adoption indicators and readiness measures to track change effectiveness and adapt plans as required.
- Contribute to reporting for relevant forums, including updates on change progress, readiness, risks, stakeholder engagement and adoption.
About You
- You are an experienced change manager who is confident delivering end-to-end organisational change in a complex, highly regulated and stakeholder-rich environment.
- You bring strong self-leadership and can work independently on allocated initiatives, while staying connected and collaborating within our team.
- You are comfortable managing multiple initiatives at different stages of delivery, balancing competing deadlines and adapting your approach when priorities shift.
You will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or solid experience delivering effective change management in large-scale projects, including changes to people, process, technology, data, structures, operations or ways of working.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing fit-for-purpose change strategies, impact assessments, stakeholder engagement plans, communication plans, training approaches and business readiness activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging and audience-specific communications, presentations, learning materials and articles that explain complex changes in a practical and compelling way.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation development capability, including the ability to shape executive-ready narratives, leader briefing materials, stakeholder packs and change storylines.
- Exceptional listening, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes and communicate confidently at all levels of an organisation.
- Experience working in dynamic, ambiguous or highly regulated environments with competing priorities, ideally within higher education, government, technology, data or another complex enterprise setting.
- Ability to identify and manage resistance, change risks and readiness gaps, and to coach leaders and project teams to support successful adoption.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain momentum and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Higher education experience is desirable but not essential.
