"Child Development Assistant (Temporary Position)"

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in the planning and implementation of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program; assist by performing routine instructional duties in the supervision of children in ECE.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK: Oxnard College, founded in 1975, is located on 118 acres near Pacific Ocean beaches in Oxnard, CA, and is part of the Ventura County Community College District.

Representative Duties:

• Assist teachers in planning, organizing, and managing a classroom environment to promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional, creative, and social skills.
• Prepare materials for reading, math, art, sciences, and other instruction; provide assistance to children and maintain their interest in activities.
• Organize and supervise children for activity periods; supervise rest and nap periods.
• Maintain classroom in a neat and orderly manner; clean up as necessary.
• Provide information to parents and visitors; participate in parent conferences.
• Plan and implement daily and long-range learning activities; assist in planning curriculum.
• Perform clerical duties; prepare and maintain records including enrollment, attendance, child portfolios, screening tools, and assessment tools.
• Attend staff meetings, conferences, and in-service training programs.
• Assure the health and safety of children by following rules and regulations.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with diverse communities; demonstrate cultural humility and equity-mindedness.
