Join a collaborative, student-centered faculty in the Department of Counselor Education as an Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor, starting Fall 2025. Position overview:
The Department of Counselor Education at Boise State University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor of Counselor Education with preference for a focus on school counseling; however, we also welcome applications for those with a focus on clinical mental health or addiction counseling. The position will start in the fall semester of 2025. The faculty member will (a) teach a variety of counseling courses, including clinical courses such as practicum and/or internship; b) mentor and advise MA students; (c) provide coordination to the school cognate or (practicum; and (d) participate in service activities at the University, College, and Department level, as well as engage in community and professional service activities. Department overview:
The Department of Counselor Education offers a Master of Arts in Counseling with a cognate in School Counseling and a cognate in Addiction Counseling. In addition, the Department offers a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision delivered through an innovative Apprentice Model. Both the Master's and Doctoral programs are CACREP accredited. The Department is housed in the School of Allied Health Science in the College of Health Sciences.

Preferred and Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program prior to August 2025, or have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a Counselor Education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013
- Background in counseling (i.e., clinical experience working children, adolescents, and/or adults)
- Evidence of effective teaching in a CACREP-accredited program in Counselor Education or equivalent
- Potential as a leader and advocate within the counseling profession
- Professionalism and collegiality
- Ability to obtain entry level License as Professional Counselor (LPC) in Idaho (https://dopl.idaho.gov/cou/)
Preferred qualifications:
- Background in school counseling
- Experience working with community partners for internship site placements

Salary and Benefits:
Salary ranges from $60,000 to $68,000, commensurate with experience. (9-month contract)
Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly, renewable contract, unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here.
