Clinical Faculty of Literacy
The Department of Curriculum & Instruction in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at the University of Idaho seeks applications for a non-tenure track, assistant, associate, or full clinical professor in Literacy with an emphasis in the Science of Reading to work from either the Moscow campus or Coeur d'Alene campus. Rank is negotiable based on how the candidate meets the criteria outlined in the Department's bylaws. The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation of teacher candidates by teaching undergraduate and/or graduate literacy courses, supervising field placements, and working collaboratively with K-12 school partners. This position requires teaching a minimum of 9 credits per semester (fall & spring), participation in recruitment and departmental initiatives, and representing the program at community and professional events.
Responsibilities may include:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate literacy courses with emphasis on the Science of Reading.
- Mentor teacher candidates in evidence-based literacy instruction and assessment.
- Contribute to program development and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with faculty, K-12 personnel, and state-wide partners on literacy initiatives.
- Participate in recruitment, advising, and department/college meetings.
- Represent the program at professional, university, and community events.
